Ryu Hyun-jin, who shouted, "I don't know if you'll pick me, but one more time," was also wary of Japanese...I couldn't connect with "Taegeuk mark"

Ryu Hyun-jin's wish for the last "Taegeuk mark" of "Korean Monster," which drew great attention, has not come true.먹튀검증

The KBO's Power Enhancement Committee officially announced on the 11th that it has selected 35 people for Team Korea training in preparation for the 2024 WBSC Premier 12. According to the regulations, it has decided to prepare 35 players in consideration of the occurrence of variables in the postseason rather than confirming 28 players as they can be replaced right before the start of the tournament.

Six LG, four KTs, two SSGs, three NCs, four Doosan Bears, four Doosan Bears, and seven KIA teams, two Lotte teams, four Samsung teams, one Hanwha team, and two Kiwoom teams were selected, including Kim Do-young (KIA Tigers), the youngest 30-30 players, and Kim Taek-yeon (Doosan Bears), the only 35 high school graduates. By position, 17 pitchers, three catchers, nine infielders and six outfielders were selected.

Players who joined the roster are clearly visible, but it was not difficult to find players who failed to join the team, contrary to expectations. Notably, Moon Dong-ju and Noh Si-hwan of the Hanwha Eagles, who joined the national team of the Hangzhou Asian Games (AG) and the Asian Professional Baseball Championship (APBC) last year, were not included in the list of 35. And Ryu Hyun-jin, the "Korean Monster" who drew the most attention, also failed to join the team.

Prior to this season, Ryu expressed his aspiration for the "Taegeuk mark" in the process of returning to Hanwha. It was the 2006 Doha Asian Games that Ryu began to wear the "Taegeuk mark" as an adult national team. Since then, he played for the Asian Baseball Championship in 2007, the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the 2009 World Baseball Classic, and the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. Notably, he played in two games and won two games with a 1.04 ERA, helping him win the gold medal with an "overwhelming victory."

After joining the Major League, however, Ryu had a chance to join the national team once again. In an interview with reporters ahead of his joining in the spring camp, Ryu expressed his intention to join the national team. Asked if he would like to play for the national team, Ryu said, "I think it is a given as a player. I don't know if he will pick me, but I would like to play as a player representing Korea once more."

Ryu Hyun-jin, who returned to the KBO League this year, did not perform as well as he did in his heyday, but he played 158 ⅓ innings in 28 games, leaving not a bad performance with 10-8 losses and an ERA of 3.87. There are many international competitions in the future, but considering his age, skills and generational change, much attention was paid to the national team's boarding at a time when the last international competition for Ryu Hyun-jin to play in reality was the Premier 12. Japan's "Full Count" warned, "If Ryu Hyun-jin is selected as the Korean national team for the 3rd WBSC Premier 12 in November, he will be a strong rival to Samurai Japan."

However, Ryu failed to join the team. The KBO's power reinforcement committee, including Ryu Joong-il, has decided to give talented young players experience in international competitions, given that the main keyword of "generational change" has been "generational change" since the Hangzhou Asian Games.

As mentioned earlier, the entry can be changed at any time until right before the tournament, but even if there is a change in the squad, there is a high possibility that the change will be made within the 35-member roster announced on the 11th. Therefore, it would be safe to say that Ryu's last "Taegeuk mark" failed.
